4 Year Preschool

The Preschool provides children ages three to five a quality learning experience. Each child is recognized as a unique individual and encouraged to process information and experiences in the manner they most easily understand. Our focus is on supporting the development of intellect, social skills, and self-esteem, allowing our students to enter kindergarten better prepared and with more confidence. Preschool teachers are carefully selected early childhood professionals.

Reading and Writing

• As the children learn their uppercase and lowercase letters, they are also introduced to the letter sounds.

• The teacher models during interactive writing time before the students learn to sound spell words..

• As the year progresses, the children begin to sound spell words.

• Through read alouds, the children learn print awareness and comprehension skills.

• Phonological awareness skills are accomplished through syllables, rhyming, and compound words.

Math

• Children will learn to recognize numbers, shapes, and patterns.

• Children learn number sense skills through the use of ten frames.

• Children practice higher level thinking by subitizing.

• Children are introduced to addition and subtraction using a variety of manipulatives.

Science

• Science is learned through a variety of ways

• We observe ants, butterflies, frogs, and plant life cycles.

• The kids enjoy spending time in the outdoor GATE area.

• In addition to our classroom science learning, the kids attend a weekly science class.

Fine Arts

• Children explore art through a variety of materials.

• Children participate in music in the classroom as well as by attending a weekly music class.
  
  The Creative Learning Center takes great pride in maintaining low student-to-teacher ratios. 

Our preschool operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 2:30 pm.
